Please note that the Homestead Road Bridge will be CLOSED for reconstruction from February 26, 2019 to July 19, 2019.
There will be no through access during this time. Thank you for your cooperation.
The municipality of Dutton Dunwich is undertaking reconstruction of the Homestead Bridge. The work has been tendered and has been awarded to the firm of Theo Vandenberk Construction from Denfield Ontario.
The proposed construction is to commence next week on February 25, 2019 with the existing bridge being removed on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. It is estimated that the project will take approximately 5 months to complete with the bridge reopening mid July 2019. During this time there will be no passage over the creek as the bridge will be removed. Local traffic will be permitted up to the construction zone on each side of the creek.
Traffic control signage and a detour route will be posted, with “road closure/bridge out” signage at the following locations:
- Talbot Line at Homestead Road
- Iona Road at Homestead Road
It should be noted that all municipal services will remain in place during the construction period, including garbage pick on its regularly scheduled day. School buses will be as scheduled, and emergency services will be notified of the proposed detour route in advance
