WELCOME TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF DUTTON/DUNWICH

A look back:

The Village of Dutton was incorporated in 1891 with a population of 857.  The first clerk of the Village was Mr. W. J. Mitton earning a salary of $35.00 a year.
The first Dutton Council were:  Reeve A. J. Leitch and
Councillors were:  Daniel McPherson, R. M. March and Robert McMillan

Members of Dunwich Township Council were:  Reeve Alex McKillop
Councillors were:  Harry Garbutt, John D. McDiarmid, Peter J. McCallum, Edward McKellar

The Present

The Village of Dutton and the Township of Dunwich amalgamated in January 1st, 1998 to from the Municipality of Dutton/Dunwich.

We moved to the newly renovated municipal building on April 28th, 1998.  This is the same building as Dutton's Town Hall erected in 1897.
