The Municipality is aware that some residents are experiencing earthy or musty smelling/tasting water. We have been advised by Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) that this could be caused by naturally occurring organic compounds, known as geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol. While the smell and taste are undesirable, they are not harmful at levels found in drinking water. The next yard waste pickup day is May 26th, 2025.
Have yard waste curbside by 7:00 am and leave out until collected, it may take several days for collection to be completed.
If you do not live within the limits of Dutton, Iona, Iona Station or Wallacetown, or you missed the collection date, bring yard waste to the landfill site located at 10443 Coyne Road.
Use brown, compostable yard waste bags. Fill only to the line and roll bag tops to prevent water from filling and overweighing the bag.
