The Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) is a permanent source of federal funding for local infrastructure. Funds are provided to communities up front, twice a year, and can be strategically invested across 18 project categories to address local priorities. Municipalities can also pool, bank and borrow against this funding. First established in 2005, the Fund has continually evolved to meet the needs of municipalities and their critical infrastructure projects.
Canadian municipalities receive over $2 billion from the Canada Community-Building Fund each year; Ontario's municipalities receive over $800 million. Funds are allocated to municipalities across the province on a per-capita basis.
The Municipality was fortunate to receive $127,941 in 2023 to help fund important infrastructure renewal projects. The CCBF has to date invested $63,000 towards the expansion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
